High Street Congregational Church, U.C.C. Mission Statement

We are called to be a church that:

Worships God, and celebrates the life and teachings of Christ Jesus; • Accepts the forgiveness and reconciliation of Christ through the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion: • Provides Christian Education and opportunities for spiritual growth. • Acts as agents for Justice and Peace; • Ministers to the needs of both local and global communities; • Values and celebrates our diversity; • Provides an environment where people can develop and realize their God-given talents; • Fosters good stewardship of our environments; and, • Is the extended family of God working together and supporting one another through life’s experiences.


Open and Affirming Statement

High Street Congregational Church United Church of Christ proclaims its belief that everyone is created in the image of God and affirms that each person, regardless of age, economic status, faith history, ethnicity, gender identity, mental or physical ability, marital status or sexual orientation is a beloved child of God and thus worthy of God’s love and grace; that prayer, support, and guidance should be offered in a loving spiritual community which strives to embrace all who seek that love and grace. All are welcome to participate in every aspect of the full life of the church.
